Bita Milanian serves as the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at GENBAND & Kandy.io, a global leader in real time communications software solutions for service providers, enterprises, independent software vendors, systems integrators and developers in over 80 countries. Her responsibilities include leading the company’s global products, solutions and digital marketing, go-to-market and channel marketing strategy, corporate communications, tradeshows and events, as well as analyst, media and public relations efforts.
Bita has nearly 20 years of marketing, branding and communications experience. She has held senior-level marketing positions at various companies, including TelePacific Communications, one of the largest competitive local exchange carriers in the US and Global Crossing, the world’s first integrated global IP-based network service provider. She began her career in telecom and technology at Justice Telecom Corporation. Prior to joining GENBAND, she held the top post of Executive Director for Farhang Foundation (farhang.org), a prominent non-profit based in Southern California where she was responsible for all operations, finances, fundraising, programming, branding and marketing for the foundation. She is also the founder of the creative and consulting agency Butterfly Buzz (bflybuzz.com), which she still operates as a means to continue her humanitarian work and support up and coming artists with a universal message, as well as non-profits, to enable them to efficiently scale to serve more people.
A passionate community organizer, Bita is actively involved in her community, volunteering her time and expertise in support of numerous causes and organizations. Among her many pro-bono engagements, she currently serves on the board of Women in the Channel, a grassroots organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of female channel leaders in technology.
Although a Los Angeles resident for nearly 30 years, she considers herself a global citizen and focuses her efforts to be impactful at that scale. She attended California State University, Northridge studying Business Administration and Marketing, and Kaiserin Augusta Schule in Cologne, Germany and is fluent in Persian and German, and proficient in conversational Spanish, French and Azeri Turkish.
